Our organisation implements measures aimed at strengthening civil society participation in protecting survivors of unlawful imprisonment and their families.
The key focus will be on the activities of the Commission for the Establishment of the Fact of Deprivation of Personal Liberty as a Result of Armed Aggression against Ukraine under the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
We strive to:
- make the Commission's work more open, transparent and understandable for applicants;
- ensure that the real needs of victims are taken into account in government decisions;
- advocate for changes to the Commission's working procedures in order to minimise unjustified refusals;
- establish a systematic dialogue between state bodies and civil society organisations;
- share expert experience and conduct training to resolve the most complex cases.
This work will help transform public participation from formal to substantive — so that the voices of illegally imprisoned persons and their families have a real impact on decision-making, and state assistance becomes more accessible and fair.
We will report on our initiatives on our website and Facebook page.
