Facilitating the accountability of war criminals is one of the strategic goals of our Organization. This is why we submitted testimonies prepared by the Association’s documentation team to the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine, which conducts an independent investigation into all alleged violations and abuses of human rights and international humanitarian law committed in the context of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Commission called for the submission of information on alleged war crimes and human rights violations, including torture, the illegal detention of civilians, and the deportation of children.

In response to this request, our organization submitted testimonies from 10 individuals regarding war crimes against the civilian population. The documented violations concern:
– breaches of fair trial guarantees, including the use of torture to obtain evidence;
– the deportation of children.

All documented crimes were committed in 2025 and recorded as part of the work of the documentation programme.

The documentation of war crimes is carried out with the financial support of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee (NHC).
