The prisoner of the Kremlin, Hennadii Lymeshko, is being held in IK No. 6 of the Stavropol Krai. The case against him was falsified in 2017. Back then, russian special services accused Hennadii of planning to blow up power lines and a utility facility in occupied Crimea on the order of the SSU. Investigators planted explosives on the man and tortured him by passing electricity through his body. In 2018, the court sentenced the Ukrainian to 8 years in prison.

The Аssociation spoke with Hennadii’s wife Iryna to find out whether the prisoner is being oppressed in the colony after the full-scale invasion.

“Hennadii told me that he had been repeatedly summoned by the FSB and asked who he supported in the war – Ukraine or Russia. He said that he had no information, and he could not get information about the course of hostilities from television and radio. During our calls, we avoid political topics – I don’t want to put him in danger once again,” says Iryna.Hennadii was also sent to SHIZO for 15 days allegedly for failing to make his bed and clean his desk in time. After SHIZO, the prisoner told his wife that he did not actually violate the regime and suspected that such decision had been made by the administration because Lymeshko is Ukrainian.

“Representatives of private military company “Wagner” visited the colony where my husband is held. They gathered everyone in the assembly hall and showed propaganda pseudo-documentaries about evil Ukrainians and heroic russians. Hena couldn’t hold back his laughter, so the chief allowed him to leave. Ironically, the prisoners who had six months left before their release, instead of quietly waiting for their time, volunteered for the war. One can only assume what fate awaited them,” says Iryna.

Hennadii has already served most of his term, he should be released in 2025. Hennadii’s family hopes that by then the war will end with our victory, because returning home from the Russian Federation even after serving the full sentence is extremely difficult. In addition, Lymeshko’s passport is expired.
