On July 30, 2025, the Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin, in partnership with the international organization Legal Action Worldwide (LAW), held a working online meeting with families of civilians from Enerhodar who are currently being unlawfully detained.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss individual cases of detention, initiate the preparation of testimonies for submission to international human rights mechanisms, and engage families in advocacy efforts.

Participants included:

– Representatives of the Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin
– Representatives of Legal Action Worldwide (LAW)
– Families of unlawfully detained civilians from Enerhodar

During the meeting:

– The Association presented its ongoing work and the focus of the dedicated "Enerhodar" working group
– LAW introduced its mandate, approach to documenting serious human rights violations, and confidentiality safeguards
– Preliminary information was collected regarding the circumstances of detentions
– Next steps were agreed: individual interviews with families and preparation of case materials for international submission

This meeting is part of a broader strategy to advocate for the release of civilian hostages through international mechanisms.

We encourage other families affected by unlawful detention to contact us and join our efforts. Together, we are stronger.
