It was informed by the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine in an official letter to the Association.

‍Our recommendations were forwarded to the Ministry of Justice to prepare an analytical report on status of realization of the National Human Rights Strategy in 2022. In addition, the conclusions of the discussion speakers were taken into account during measures of the parliamentary control over the observance of constitutional rights and freedoms of man and citizen.

‍As a reminder, on January 12, 2023, on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Political Prisoner, a public discussion was held at which human rights activists and relatives of detainees discussed the realization by the state the Law of Ukraine “On social and legal protection of people found to have been deprived of their personal liberty as a result of military aggression against Ukraine, and members of their families” which came into force on November 19, 2022.  Based on the results of this discussion, the speakers prepared recommendations to the state authorities for the soonest and full implementation of the law, which is designed to protect the rights of war prisoners and their relatives.
