The NGO ‘Association of Relatives of Kremlin Political Prisoners’ presents a monthly analytical digest documenting the Russian Federation's war crimes against the civilian population.
Key findings for July 2025: 20 witnesses were interviewed about the unlawful deprivation of liberty of their relatives and loved ones.
18 new cases of unlawful imprisonment of civilians were identified: 16 men and 2 women. Geography: Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Both cases of fabricated verdicts by Russian courts and prolonged detention without any grounds were recorded. The cases identified indicate systematic persecution — from politically motivated verdicts for ‘terrorism’ or ‘weapons possession’ to psychological and physical violence. People are detained solely because of relatives in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, photos on their phones, or refusal to cooperate with the occupiers. In our July review, we also publish testimonies from victims who have survived torture, intimidation, and humiliation by the occupying forces.
They remind us of the high price of resistance and refusal to obey the occupiers. The full text of the analytical review is available on our website: https://www.relativespp.org/.../analitichniy-oglyad...
